For fun

On the way home today we saw the old Texas Roadhouse building coming down. Gideon was sooooo excited!! We drove around the back to watch the excavator do his work. The kids loved it. I texted this picture to Brady and he was sad...he was really hoping they would open back up someday soon. I wonder what new thing is going in it's place?

Ayla likes bugs...rubber bugs :) On yesterday's menu was a cockroach.

Zenock loves Brady's socks. I have no idea why. He has claimed a pair for his own and wears them all the time. He even went out in public with them on last week.

Swimming lessons

Ammon is in level 4, learning different strokes like the back and butterfly. He swims across the pool from 4 ft to 10 ft multiple times during his lesson. He has only one other classmate.

Zenock is in level 1. He's much less confident in the water than Ammon, but I think he loves playing in it more than Ammon. He's learning ice cream scoops, stream lining, and monkey crawling.

Everyone's favorite part of swimming lessons is jumping in the pool.

I think these two would rather be in the water with everyone else than in the stroller by me. It's a tough 40 minutes to keep them entertained when all they want to do is run away from me.

One of Zenock's favorite games, motor boat motor boat. They practice kicking fast and slow in the water.

The caterpillar game....going from the shallow end all the way to 10 ft deep. Zenock's swim class is huge with seven kids.

Epic

Last night we took the older boys to see Epic at the drive-in theater. The movie was great, it was fun to watch in the back of the van, we loved going to the movies in our pj's, we loved bringing our own treats, and we stopped at Sonic for some 1/2 price shakes before the show! We got a babysitter for the other two littles at our house....the movie was much more enjoyable for everyone without the babies whining about going to bed :). The theater was HUGE! They have 6 screens showing movies at a time....I've never seen something like that before. I have to say that it was way too hot to be outside, even after dark.....it was 105* when we got there, and 99* when we left at 10:10pm. We'd all like to go again in late October when it isn't so hot.

Random stuff

Gideon has a couple of new words...sort of. He says bulldozer. It sounds like bodunana. He says ice which sounds like aye. He also says that word for fry. He calls Ammon, Zenock, motorcycle, and anything else I try to get him to repeat dena (with a short e sound).

On the last day of school we picked up dinner at Sonic (they have $1.99 kids meals on Wednesdays) and took it to the airport to eat dinner in the van and watch the planes take off. Everyone loved it. Brady gave Ayla her first french fry....she loved it. I gave her one today and she devoured it. In fact, when I didn't give her another one she got mad at me and started yelling and grabbing the table until I gave her another fry. I think she may have inherited my love of french fries.

Longer hair means...

Pig tails!!! I'm loving her in two instead of one. The single was starting to look like Old Faithful. She did so good eating her snacks while I combed out her hair to do this. Brady says she's a mini Cindy Loo Who. The boys and I think she looks more like Boo.

The end of baseball season

Baseball season finally ended for us on Thursday night. I'm so glad my boys like to play sports. I think they are building useful skills in learning and trying new things. I'm also happy to not have to sit out in 100* weather anymore....it's really getting hot here! Good job boys!! Happy summer :)
