Pictures from Mexico
The Sea of Cortez from our hotel room on the third floor Sunset over San Lucas. Taken from the Cabo Escape boat we took the dinner cruise on.
Us on the boat from the Pacific Ocean side of El Arco.
This is what the rocks look like up close.
On Lover's beach. I don't know why they call it that because it was too windy and too many people for me. The cool thing about this beach is that you can only get to it from the water because there are rock mountains between it and the main marina. The beach goes the whole width of the peninsula, which is about 250 feet or so. So on one side you can be in Pacific Ocean water and the other side in Sea of Cortez water.
This is a rock full of sea lions. They stunk so bad I had to cover my nose. We saw them from the boat taxi we took to the beach.
A sea lion stopped and waved to us as the boat passed.
This is me, really high. It looks like the parachute is rather small, but it is actually bigger than the boat we rode to do this.
I was pretty nervous before we did this because heights are not my favorite thing. But it was great. It was kindof like being attached to a kite or a huge swing, on a 400 foot line. After I was done I wanted to do it again. This is something I think I would like to do each time we go on an excotic vacation like this.

Our first real vacation
Since I am now in my last 10 weeks of school, Brady and I took a vacation last week to celebrate being finished. The boys got to stay with my parents while we went to San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas which is located at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula. San Lucas is the city built around the hillsides on the tip, and San Jose is about 20 miles north along the hotel corridor. This is where our hotel was, and we rode the bus to San Lucas for our activities because the main marina is there. We ate some great Mexican food, our favorite being from a restaurant called La Panga in downtown San Jose. This picture is where we ate lunch Monday called La Quesadilla. The nachos were great, but the beef and pork tacos were a little weird tasting I thought.
We took a taxi on Sunday to attend one of the branches in San Jose, and that was really nice. The church was surrounded by a gate similar to those around the temple grounds, and it was near the poorer part of the city with very old, cramped houses and empty lots that have become dumpsters. In spite of its location, no matter where we attend church, it is always the same. I experience the same spirit in every ward I have been too, and I love it. Even though we couldn’t understand what most of the speakers were saying, we both knew right away when they were sharing their testimonies. There was an older couple who spoke at the end who are from Spokane, Washington. They gave nice talks in English, and one of the missionaries translated for them. I am also really grateful that even though we were on vacation in a foreign country that we were able to take the Sacrament.
We were able to do some fun activities in San Lucas. We took a dinner cruise around the peninsula tip and the marina to see the sunset, we tried to snorkel at Lover’s beach but the water was too rough, and we went parasailing (which was my favorite activity). Although I love going on vacation to experience something different from my regular routine, I am glad to be home. I missed the kids, and I missed sleeping in my own bed. However, I also miss being in the 80 degree weather as well because when we got home Thursday night, we woke up to 2 inches of snow which accumulated throughout the day to 6 inches. It reminds me that Idaho doesn’t really have spring-like weather without a snowstorm or two.
