Pinewood derby

Zenock's first ever Pinewood Derby race. His car is the blue one. It looks like The King from Cars.

This race is the first race of the last season of Pinewood Derby for Ammon. He tried really hard this year to make a car that would win first place.
Zenock got a turn to announce the race.
Ammon announcing the race
There were several siblings racing. The brothers got to do a race just between them, head to head.

Announcing the WINNERS!

The boys had a great time. They designed the cars, Brady helped them cut out their cars, they did the initial painting, I helped them find the right decals they wanted and did the weights and final detail painting. I also had to re make Zenock's spoiler because the one Brady cut out of wood was lost thanks to a certain little girl in our family. I racked my brain trying to figure out a way to put one on his car without using wood. I ended up gluing three note cards together and then cutting and gluing to the car, much like paper doll tabs.....at least that was the thought process in my head. After painting the spoiler and coating the whole car in modge podge, I have to say it looked pretty darn good. We are very proud of the boys and how much they love scouts. I think my favorite part of the whole experience was watching Zenock walk back to us after getting his award for first place. He was literally beaming from ear to ear. It was adorable! It isn't often that he ends up doing something better than Ammon.

 First place!! The King
Fourth place!! Manchester United soccer team

Happy baby

One would never guess this happy baby cried for over five hours today due to his acid reflux. The doctor switched his Rx because Zantac wasn't working. She gave him Prevacid, which can only be mixed up in liquid form at one special pharmacy in town. He has been using it since Saturday night, and I haven't felt like there has been much improvement yet. I'm not sure how long it will take to get into his system so the reflux isn't bothering him as much every time he eats. It's been a real struggle the last week and a half to get this guy to eat more than two ounces at a time. His appetite is quite small, which is most likely due to the pain he experiences every time the acid comes back up. In any case, I have tried a few different things to help him. Today a friend suggested giving him a baby probiotic. I found some at Sprouts tonight. He had one dose in his bottle at 9pm and then started smiling and being happy. He has been hanging out with me the last hour just talking, smiling, and being content...which he has not experienced ALL DAY! (And he just fell asleep as I am writing this.) I am so happy that he is finally happy. I really, really hope tomorrow is a better day for this cute dude. He needs to increase his eating volume so he can keep gaining weight like he needs too.

Three months old today

This cute boy is three months old today. He is now exactly three pounds heavier than at birth. Friday is his first cleft lip surgery. There are only a few days left to capture his cleft smile. I hope I can get some good ones on film, because his face is about to change forever. I love him!

This is how much he has grown so far, from one month to three months old.

Three things

1. Rydon decided to make himself a mermaid this morning.
2. Gideon was hiding in blankets watching Super Why, one of his favorite shows on PBS.
3. Did I tell you about the time Ayla feed Rydon spoonfuls of rice? I was just minding my business getting my own plate of dinner when I heard him gagging. I discovered rice all over his body and in his mouth. Ayla said,  "baby rice mom!" Not helpful little girl, not helpful at all. It was one of those thanks - but - no thanks situations.

Loads of reading

Ammon was the first person in his school to reach 300 accelerated reader test points. For 100 he earned the shirt he is wearing, for 200 he earned $10 certificate to Barnes and Noble, and for 300 he earned a Nook reader. This kid was thrilled!

Videos I have been meaning to post

She knows all about fire trucks He started rolling over when he turned two months. He doesn't do it often, and it usually happens in his bed. She has discovered pretending to talk on the phone. She used all kinds of things for phones, including my ear phones in this video. The neighbors moved and gave us their power wheel. All the kids love driving it.

Museum

We went with my parents and sister to the natural history museum and the old Mormon fort. The best part was watching the kids enthusiasm. Ayla was hilarious. They got to hold fossils and guess which dinosaur they were from. Ammon's was a stegosaurus tail spike. Zenock's was an alasaurus claw. Ayla's was a mastodon tooth. Gideon refused to touch them. We got to pet some reptiles as well. I didn't realize bearded dragons were so rough and spikey. Ayla touched the snake.

Playing

He is having a great time playing with me this morning, starting alittle before 4 am. It's now after 5, avg he's still going strong. It's a good thing he is so cute because I'm already tired just thinking about being tired today.
The thigh picture is the beginnings of fat rolls! I love fat babies,  and he is finally on the way to more fatness haha!

Rydon's blessing

Rydon was blessed last night at our church building after the general priesthood session was over. All of Brady's family came and about half of mine. I missed a photo with Abby, Quinn, Kahel, and his friend Tasha. Our friends the Gardner's, and Lisa Cox also came. We had 41 people come. It was a wonderful event.

Cute girl, cute boy, cute shirts

Mini photo shoot on the couch with their cute shirts. Hers says "Best big sister." His says, "Little brothers rock!"
The next few photos are of her INSISTING she give him a hug. And she has to do it her way.
I like this one a lot! I am pretty sure that is a natural smile from Rydon.

This one is my favorite out of the 20 photos I ended up taking.
This one is super funny because it caught his as he spit up his lunch.
And she HAD to feed him the bottle he just finished. Like she thought it was a matter of life and death if she didn't get to feed him right when she wanted too.
