Field trip and cute hair

Gideon got to go on a field trip with his preschool class to the Natural History Museum. The class has been learning about dinosaurs all month long, so all the kids were really excited to see some! Ayla found her a giraffe as well. This girl sure loves her African animals!!
They both crashed on the way home. Ayla popped awake when we got into the garage.
I cut all the kids hair Saturday night. Ayla got her second full haircut. I was trying to cut off two inches from the back, but it ended up to be more like 3. It isn't perfectly straight since she wiggles like a two year old, so don't judge ;). She looks pretty cute with shoulder length hair. I hope it helps decrease the tangles and food in her hair all the time.

Early Easter

We did Easter a week early this year because I wanted Brady to wear his new tie to church today since he was singing with the choir for the Easter program. We loaded up on books for the kids this year instead of candy. They didn't seem to mind the lack of junk food.

This little one was very excited for her Frozen stuff. She loves her new water bottle and book the most. She pulled out her dress and said very excitedly, "Dress!!" It was quite adorable.
I love that I can buy matching ties for every boy in our family!! Today's Easter program was so amazing. Brady sung in a quartet for one of the numbers. It was so beautiful. The Easter and Christmas Sacrament Meeting programs are my very favorite Sunday's of the year.
I felt a little bad for taking a picture of him while he was so upset. I just had to document his cute Easter outfit today before he barfed all over it at church....which didn't happen, amazingly enough ;)

No rhyme or reason, just lots of photos

Ammon's bridge he and his teammate made in GATE class. He's pretty proud of it, but bummed that the judge didn't select his to go into the contest at UNLV a few weeks ago.
Helping me make smoothies by holding Rydon. He looks pretty worried to be with Zz :)
Brady made, with much supervision, homemade 7up biscuits and homemade sausage gravy for dinner. It was so delicious!!! I made the spinach apple berry smoothie, a perfect compliment to dinner. Everyone except Gid and Ayla loved it. They just drank their smoothies and complained about the rest.

Rydon's St. Patrick's shirt. His footprint was the stem, and I swirled large circles for the leaves.
Modeling his astronaut vest from preschool
It was so helpful to have Ammon holding Rydon so I could quickly make dinner.
Actually eating her food. Such a rarity with this two year old.

I made her a giraffe shirt, and the elephant one below too. She loves them.
Driving the stroller up and down the stairs. Over and over and over.
Running like hooligans during the cub scout activity, at which Zenock earned his bobcat badge....and I don't have a photo of that.

Fell asleep during tummy time

Two months old already

Today, on his two month birthday, Rydon weighs in at 8 pounds 6.5 ounces. He is 21.75 inches long. Overall his growth is going up, although slowly. I love that he is starting to get some cheeks on him! When Brady came home from work tonight, after being gone for three days, he noticed Rydon is starting to get a double chin. It's small but it's there!! I love it when babies start getting fat. Baby fat is the cutest fat on the planet :)
In other news, Kacey had her baby girl tonight. Her name is Marisa, and she weighs 8 pounds 9 ounces. Her newborn is bigger than my two month old!! Congratulations to Kacey, Justin, and Lizzy! I am really happy Rydon has a cousin near his same age.

Pi day festivities

We had a great work day cleaning the house and shopping for summer clothes in the garage. At the end of the day we celebrated pi day wIth homemade pizza and homemade banana cream pie. Movie night was next,  watching the night at the museum 3 on the air mattress. I love productive Saturdays.

Park fun on Wednesday

They love this park. Ayla asks to go to the park several times a day. She was thrilled when I stopped the van to play this time instead of driving by. They were chasing each other around the playground and on the slide, running after birds, and giggling like crazy the whole time.

Cute baby alert and the tooth fairy

I love sleeping babies. Rydon looks so peaceful.
The tooth fairy is lousy at coming on time to our house. Zz lost his tooth three days before the fairy finally came. I told him he should write a note to her and maybe she would come while he was at school. Then before school Ammon lost a tooth too. Hopefully next time the fairy will come the same day as the tooth is lost.

Free day at the Lion Habitat Ranch

In honor of the baby giraffe's first birthday, the Lion Habitat Ranch offered free admission. Zenock took a field trip here earlier in the year and loved it. We thought Ayla would really like the giraffe....and we were not disappointed in that idea. Before we got to the giraffe a large male lion was growling at everyone as they walked by. It scared Ayla so much that she insisted on being carried and didn't stop crying until we saw the giraffe. Brady said she was also refusing to look at anything except for his neck. After seeing the giraffe she returned to her normal self. This was a fun family activity!! I am also really glad I had the idea yesterday to make her a giraffe shirt with tshirt vinyl. She's going to love it.
Some fun facts: lions in the wild live for about 10 years. Lions in captivity live 18-20 years. We saw a male who is currently 16 years old. He looked his age too, gray and tired. The baby lion we saw was part of a litter of three. Two of the litter were sick with heart conditions and the mother could sense something was wrong with them so she rejected the whole litter. The two sick cubs did pass away, but the baby down below is as healthy as ever. He is 23 weeks old and being raised by the ranch. It was cute watching him play with a trash can. I think he is just about the same size as my sister's dog, Pepper.
