Lunch with Great Grandma

Brady's grandma took Gideon..and Ayla and I, out for lunch for his birthday. If you love Asian inspired food and haven't been to the Elephant Bar, please go! The food is delicious, and the kids love their jungle decor. Faith got Gideon to give her kisses....so cute to watch. Ayla insisted on tasting her water. My kids crack me up...and our lunch out was filled with warm fuzzies for everyone :) Thank you for lunch Faith!!
It was so yummy that Ayla fell asleep on the way home and was snoring softly.

Just for fun

It may very well be the truth at our house...frequently :)

Sunset

Today was such a beautiful sunset. It surrounded the whole sky. With the wisps of clouds in the west it looks like fire. I am happy to have seen it today, especially since we had a sick one yesterday, Zenock, and another sick kid, Gideon, today. Enjoying nature for those few minutes was a nice reprieve from the last two days. I hope no one else gets the flu. On that note, tonight was the first in probably a year and a half that I have rocked a kid to sleep. Gideon is out cold! Here's to positive thoughts of no puking during the night and that the rest of us stay healthy.

Teeth and funny Ayla

She likes to help do the dishes....and it's even more fun to do while drinking from Mom's water bottle. She's learning how to multi task already!

The two front teeth that got knocked out way back in August of 2011 are finally coming in! His two bottom teeth that he lost on New Years are also coming in quite nicely.

I took this picture of Ayla as the boys were getting ready for school yesterday. One of her favorite things lately is putting on hats and playing with my shoes....more specifically the pair she has on in this picture. She digs through my shoes looking for these.

Natural History Museum

We took the kids to the Natural History Museum on MLK Day since there was no school. It was nice to get out and do family stuff in the morning before Brady went to work. I guess this counts as FHE, and for us it's FHM. Haha. Here is the Nevada room.

Target practice

Every Thursday is ladies day at one of the gun ranges here. My friend, Jan, invited me to go with her today. We had a great time! I love getting more target practice in, and it looks like I'm getting better! My sites are off on one of my pistols, but other than that it was a really fun time. I love sharing hobbies with people, and I am really looking forward to taking Brady to this range for one of our 10 for 10 dates.

Date numero 2

For our second installment of 10 dates for 10 years of marriage we enjoyed gourmet burgers at Bachi Burger. It was featured on Diners Drivins and Dives a while back. We've wanted to go here forever, so we finally just did it. It's the most delicious 1/3 lb of beef I've ever eaten...ever! The fries came with pineapple ketchup...also amazing!

Next up was two rounds of go cart racing. I won the first race...I think Brady let me win, but either way, I beat him.

The second race he beat me...but I did pass him twice...he just happened to also pass me twice :) We had such a good time just spending time together. Dating your spouse is seriously fun, fulfilling, and so important!!! We ended the night getting a hot and fresh Krispy Kreme donut, and a dozen to take home for Sunday breakfast. We are both looking forward to the remaining 8 dates!

I think I have a million posts titled "Funny kids" ...lets make it 1,000,001

Her favorite stuffed animal, the pig, has had to join her for breakfast the last several days. It's almost like she can't breathe without this thing right by her the whole day....she gets really mad when I put it back in her bed.

Some kids drink from the hose when they are thirsty. Other kids play in the water like above...

And some kids don't care how small the stream of water is, even if it comes from a drip line...they still insist on tasting the watery goodness.

Leftover lettuce

You remember that lettuce I vacuum sealed back on Dec 29th? I opened it today to see if it was still good...and it was! It did start to wilt, with several brown pieces, but it was still good enough to mix in with our fresh lettuce for homemade Chinese chicken salad for dinner. I'm so happy I can make lettuce stay edible for so long!! What a money saver this machine is already for us!!!

The cake and presents

Yesterday, after nap time his nursery teacher came over with a birthday card, a flashlight, and a box of lemon heads. He was so excited to play with the flashlight the rest of the night. The lemon heads were devoured in about 5 minutes as well. Thanks Sister Rose!

Tonight was the cake and more present opening with Brady's mom and stepdad. We had fun watching him get excited about his new toys. He loves the fire truck cake! He got a toddler leap pad console game and fire truck from us, and a vehicle puzzle from Grammy. Yesterday, since it was his birthday we let him open some things: shoes, Planes shirt, fire truck book, and Ironman action figure.

Gideon's Birthday!!

Gideon is now three years old! He has about 100 words in his vocabulary. He can almost get dressed and undressed by himself. He loves to put socks on his hands. His favorite things in the whole world are emergency response vehicles and the people that drive them, construction equipment (the bigger, the better), Ironman, and Grandpa. He loves to talk on the phone to grandparents, race with Ayla, ride his tricycle and scooter, and play at the park. His favorite foods are chocolate milk, rice crispy cereal, oatmeal, cheese, ketchup, and fruit snacks. He is 36 inches tall and weighs about 27 pounds.

Tonight Brady has to work, so we are doing the usual birthday festivities tomorrow night instead. Today before breakfast he opened some of his presents.

Sledding Photos

Thursday we went sledding at one of the picnic areas on Mt. Charleston. Here's the photo version. As soon as I upload videos to youtube I'll post them here. We had a great time even though we got delayed all morning thanks to Brady's manager messing up...again. Naptime was all messed up, so Gid was a lot grumpy when we first got there....and he was REALLY happy to go home.

Eating snow

He was so excited to push Ammon down the hill.

Ammon is SUCH a photo bomber! I swear he finds a way to be goofy in every picture.
