Downtown Container Park

Looking at these photos made me realize I never took a picture of the totally awesome tree house. Google the container park in las vegas and check it out. We had a blast playing here! It was even more fun with most of the cousins. Thanks Christa and Cicely!!

Zombie Paintball

Last night for our 7th of 10 dates for 10 years we went zombie hunting at Combat Paintball. Because we were shooting at people dressed like zombies, they had us use paintball guns made without CO2 cartridges. That means the balls don't have much velocity....so it wasn't quite as accurate as I wanted. Brady ended up getting shot in the back by friendly fire, but it wasn't by me, in fact, I didn't even think about shooting him...but now I wish I would have :)
On the way to Combat we stopped at a place we have never tried for dinner. Rubios is a fresh Mexican food place. I had the classic trio: one taco each of classic fish, shrimp, and tilapia. The shrimp taco was my favorite because they put avocados on it and I would have never put those two things together, but in a taco it was delicious. Brady had a classic chicken burrito.
Because the Zombie experience was so short, only 15 minutes of shooting time, we had time to go get ice cream after on the way home. We were gone 2 hours exactly, which may be the shortest time ever.....but we had a blast. A huge shout out goes to Brady's mom and step dad for watching our kids for us!!!

Cousins and soap

Above is Ayla playing with Peyton. Brady's sister in law came to visit during their spring break. We had lots of fun cousin time, including a few family dinners, Grammy's birthday, and some new park exploring. I think I have a few pictures on my phone, which will have to be uploaded later.

Below is what happens when Gideon decides to go potty all by himself. He was in there for probably 10 minutes before I realized it was way too quite in my house.

Outfit

I put a crochet flower applique on Ayla's plain shirt. Now it matches the shorts I got on clearance. The shorts used to be cuffed, but they were too short, so I unpicked the cuff and now they are an inch longer. Perfect toddler outfit in my opinion. I asked her to say cheese, and she opened her mouth, which was full of fruit snacks.

Queen Underwear

There are many uses for underwear. Here Ayla shows us how to wear them as a form on scarf.

 And then we have the French version, Barret (or however the heck it's spelled)

 

Here, socks as gloves make a great combo with the undies hat.

 

A mask

And finally,a more modern version of a Borsalino hat like this one: (I bet you didn't know this hat design was named that, did you? Well, I didn't either until I did an internet search for mens hats)

APRIL FOOLS!!

 

We pranked our kids this year by planting Cherrios and telling them they are donut seeds. They were so exited to check on the pot and see if it had grown anymore. We started late Sunday afternoon, so our donut seeds were super fast growing. The last plant there with the donuts on it is a hibiscus plant. I had never seen one before, and I have to say, it's really pretty. I wish my small house was bigger so we could have it forever. The donuts were from my favorite shop here, Donut Time. The glazed donuts just melt in my mouth. I love it! In the video below the sound is terrible, so please turn up the volume on your computer to hear the boys funny reaction.

The fox says....

What does the fox say? Dingdingdingdingdingding. Thanks to the fabulous girls who sometimes babysit out kids! To find out what the fox really says, check it out on youtube. The music video is quite hilarious, while the tune is really catchy. Zenock knows almost all the words and sings it all the time.

Runaway Undies!

This kid is so hilarious! She is ALWAYS finding clean underwear around the house. I don't know if she goes in the boys drawers to find them, or if they forget to put some away on laundry day. Regardless, here's a funny video of our little runner from last night. I loved it so much that I submitted it to AFV. I hope it ends up on the show!

Words

Ayla has added help, off (both sound the same), and woof to her vocabulary. Her and Gideon also know what a fox says thanks to a babysitter we have had come a few times.

Cornerstone Park

Yesterday was such beautiful weather. We have actually had a very springy weathered March so far. Of course, spring here is like June in Idaho. We made a picnic dinner and enjoyed it at a park we haven't ever been too. The kids loved throwing rocks into the water. Brady tried showing the boys how to skip rocks, coming to the conclusion that rough landscaping rocks are no match for smooth flat river stones we find along Idaho riverbanks. For those familiar with Henderson, Cornerstone Park is a new wetland area west of Winco on Stephanie. It's a huge park with lots of picnic areas and grass to play on. There's also a nicely paved trail along the water.

Lady Antebellum Concert Videos

Date number 6!

We checked off my bucket list and went to my first music concert last night. It was really fun, and REALLY loud! Half way through Brady went in search of ear plugs, finding some at the info desk at the front of the event center. Apparently they have enough for everyone, all you have to do is ask for some. Next time we'll be sure to ask for some right when we get there so we can enjoy the whole concert. We saw Kasey Musgraves, Kip Moore, and Lady Antebellum. Kip didn't have great show skills, in my opinion, but his songs were pretty good. Kasey was amazing, and so was Lady A. I have really come to love country music in the last couple of years because most of it is clean, and about real life...unlike a lot of new pop songs out now. We had such a great time singing along to the songs together. We also enjoyed PF Changs for dinner before....sooooo good! I've only eaten there twice, each time was amazing!
